Managing Fruit Trees in the Home Landscape

PeachesThe Currituck County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension will sponsoring a class on “Managing Fruit Trees in the Home Landscape” on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 6:30 pm.  Topics to be covered include: tree site selection; planting techniques; soil and fertility requirements; pruning and training; insect and disease management; fertility grow well, site selection and soil requirements; planting, training and pruning; and potential insect and disease problems.   The class is for anyone interested in starting a home orchard or already growing fruit trees.   The Currituck Extension Center is located at 120 Community Way, Barco, North Carolina.  Please call 232-2262 to register or sign up on line at go.ncsu.edu/fruittrees
