Small Farms Tour

The Currituck County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be hosting a Currituck small farms tour on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 beginning at the Currituck Extension Center at 4:00 pm and ending around 7:00 pm. This program is being designed and planned for those who are interested in starting their own commercial production of locally grown agricultural commodities available for public consumption. Small farm agriculture production can range from vegetables, fruit, flowers, honey, poultry and eggs to value –added agriculture products such as pickles, jams, jelly and wine.

Those interested in attending must pre-register for this program by Monday, July 21, 2014. Please call the Currituck Extension Center at 252-232-2262. You may also register online at go.ncsu.edu/smallfarmstour. Participants are reminded that most of the tour will be outside on farms, and they should dress accordingly with sun screen and insect repellant.
