Looking for a Fun Filled Way for Your Child to Learn and Make Lasting Friendships This Summer?

If so, there are some wonderful summer opportunities that are being offered by the Currituck County 4-H Program this year.

In partnership with Currituck County Schools, we will once again be holding our annual Summer 4-H Camp Mesowannago (me-so-wanna-go) for youth ages 6-12 (must have completed Kindergarten). Six weeks of camp will be offered:  June 17-20, June 24-27, July 1-3 & 5, July 15-18, July 29-August 1 and August 5-8. The camp will be held at Central Elementary School, located at 504 Shortcut Road in Barco.

We will also be providing summer recreation programs for youth at the Currituck Rural Center in Powells Point. The day camp program begins with Kayaking 101 June 14th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; cost is $5.00 for youth ages 9-18 years old. The Summer Horse Sense Event will be held on June 18th, 19th & 20th, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily; cost is $5.00 for youth ages 9 & up. Next, we will host Horsemanship 101, July 18th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; cost is $5.00 for youth ages 9-18. Finally, Fishing Day will be heldAugust 14th, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; cost is FREE for youth ages 9-13(kids must be with an adult).

Two weeks of Boy’s Town Summer Camp 2013 will be held for boys, ages 12-15 years old. Spots are limited to ten each week. These young men will experience six days of fun and excitement. Dates of camp are July 16-18 and July 23-25. Campers will focus on a new character word each day and work on activities to help them build character, self-esteem and leadership skills. Campers will learn life skills that will enrich their everyday lives. Youth will have the opportunity to play team sports and games at the Currituck Parks and Recreation gym and visit the Currituck County Rural Center for horseback riding, kayaking, and outdoor cooking. Other activities include guest speakers, field trips and so much more! This will be a summer camp that your son will not want to miss!
