2013 Northeast Ag Expo

The 2013 Northeast Ag Expo Field Day will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Roberts Brothers, Inc., 169 North Gregory Road, Shawboro, North Carolina in Currituck County. Annually, the NE Ag Expo is hosted by the agriculture agents in North Carolina Cooperative Extension county centers of Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Gates and Currituck, as well as, NCSU Extension specialists. The featured crop at this year’s Ag Expo is soybeans with several innovative trials being conducted. Soybean trials include potential yield enhancers, maximum yield test, seed weight test, fungicide and herbicide tests, as well as precision versus non-precision planting and late planted maturity groups test. Beside the field tours, there will be equipment displays and agricultural exhibits by agribusinesses and educational based agencies. Pesticide license credits will be available for private and commercial applicators, as well as, credits for certified crop advisors.

The NE Ag Expo Field Day will begin at 7:00 a.m. with registration and breakfast, plus the opportunity to visit with the trade show exhibitors and sponsors until the field tours begin at 9:00 a.m. At the conclusion of the field tours, a catered lunch will be served at 12:00 noon to complete the Field Day activities.
