The Currituck County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be conducting a program on raising a Backyard Chicken Flock on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Currituck Extension Center in Barco beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program is designed for beginners who are interested in raising chickens and producing eggs. Participants will obtain a wealth of information necessary to know before starting their own small backyard flock. Aside from gaining knowledge of small flock management, those in attendance will have the opportunity to learn from a panel of experienced local growers with their own backyard flocks. In addition, attendees will learn of the available resources for chicks, equipment, and feed, etc. To register for this program contact the Currituck Extension Center at 232-2262 or on line at: http://go.ncsu.edu/smallflock101
