Half Gallon Challenge

Looking for a way to start a new healthy habit? Currituck and Camden County Centers of North Carolina Cooperative Extension are holding a 12-week challenge called the “1/2 Gallon Challenge”. The USDA recommends that everyone consume eight, 8-ounce glasses of water a day; which equals 64 ounces or half of a gallon. This challenge will encourage participants to begin consuming or continue to consume the recommended amount of water each day. Throughout the program participants will report their daily amount of water consumption. Prizes will be given at random to those who check-in on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using the #halfGALchallenge along the way. Also follow @halfgalchal on Twitter for reposts, updates and encouragement. Prizes will also be awarded at the conclusion of the program. Registration is $5.00 and will include a reusable water bottle. To register complete the on-line application at: go.ncsu.edu/hgchallenge and mail $5.00 check  payable to Camden Extension Service  to the Camden County Extension Office PO Box 120 Camden NC 27921. A Kick-Off Event will be held May 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Currituck Extension Office in Barco.
