Northeast North Carolina Daffodil Society Spring Meeting
Spring Daffodil Membership Meeting and Artistic Design Class Co-Sponsored by North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center and the Currituck County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers
Theme: “Preparing for the 2015 Daffodil Show”
Date: Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Location: N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center, 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917
Admission: Open to members, garden clubs, Master Gardeners and the public free of charge. However the 1:00 pm Artistic Design Class has a fee of $5.00
On Saturday, February 28, 2015 the Northeast North Carolina Daffodil Society will hold their spring membership meeting. The meeting will start at 10:00 am, with registration beginning at 9:30 am. Come enjoy a day of daffodils and artistic design. American Daffodil Society member Clay Higgins will recap the 2014 society accomplishments and discuss the preparation of entry cards for daffodil exhibits for this year’s show. Fran Higgins and Cora Wade will demonstrate the duties of clerks during the show, such as working with entry cards, attaching ribbons and helping the ADS judges.
An optional Artistic Design Class will be offered at 1:00 pm. The presenter will be Francis Thrash, an outstanding experienced artistic designer, judge and member of the National Garden Club. Francis will demonstrate how to build Sculpture Form and Assemblage Designs. There is a minimal charge of $5 per person to attend the class and fees can be paid at the door.

The Northeast North Carolina Daffodil Society was formed in 2006 and has 31 members. The NENCDS is associated with the American Daffodil Society with over 1300 members across the United States and foreign countries. The NENCDS is proud to bring these presentations to Barco, NC. Everyone interested in gardening, arranging flowers, and the beauty of nature, is invited to come and enjoy this remarkable exhibition.
