N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is holding a series of home food preservation classes from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Currituck County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension. Participants will have the chance to prepare and can a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables on the following dates:

2015 Canning Class Schedule

  • July 23rd Pickles
  • August 13th Tomato Sauce & Salsa
  • September 10th Pressure Canning
  • October 8th Jams and Jellies

For an introduction to food preservation visit go.ncsu.edu/canning101. All other classes have a $15.00 registration fee and class size is limited. You must pre-register and pay before attending one or more of these workshops. Make checks payable to Currituck County and put Canning Class along with the class name on the Memo line.
