Currituck Master Gardeners Donate for the Holidays

In the spirit of the holiday season, Currituck County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers gave a donation of $500 dollars to each of the local food pantries of Currituck County. Agriculture Extension Technician Sarah Watts said “Food Pantries provide such a great service to the community not just during the holidays, but all year long. The volunteers of the Extension Master Gardener Program wanted to help be a part of that.” Just this year alone, Pilmoor Memorial United Methodist Church Food Pantry assisted over 1,600 families with enough food for over 79,000 meals. Likewise, Lower Currituck Food Pantry assisted over 200 families just in the month of November.
