N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center’s 2016 home food preservation series has had a few changes. The Jams and Jellies class scheduled for May 25th will move to Friday, May 27th. The Butters class scheduled for August 24th has been changed to Monday, August 22nd. All classes will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Currituck County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension. The full class schedule with the updated dates are listed below:

2016 Canning Class Schedule

  • Jams and Jellies May 27th
  • Pressure canning June 24th
  • Tomatoes July 15th
  • Butters August 22nd

For an introduction to food preservation check our website for our free online Canning 101 class. The on site classes have a $15.00 registration fee and class size is limited. Pre-register here and send payment to Currituck Cooperative Extension Center, 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917 to hold your spot. Please make checks payable to Currituck County and include in the memo line the name of the class(es) you wish to attend.
