The Northeast North Carolina Daffodil Society (NENCDS), a local chapter of the American Daffodil Society, will be hosting their annual “Fall Meeting and Daffodil Bulb Exchange” on Saturday, October 29th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Currituck Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension located at 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917. Meeting registration will open at 9:30 a.m. and the event is open to public free of charge.

The meeting will begin with a short business portion including the recognition of new members and members who assisted with the 2016 NENCDS Daffodil show. A panel discussion will then follow on the preparation and planting of daffodil bulbs. Panelist will include: Jennifer Potter the ADS Mid-Atlantic Regional Director and accredited daffodil judge, Katherine Beale also an accredited daffodil judge specializing in miniature cultivars, and Nancy Fuchs an avid and successful Mid-Atlantic Region Daffodil Show exhibitor. NENCDS Show Chairman, Clay Higgins, will then discuss daffodil bulb and flower development, including a bulb cross section demonstration. The meeting will be concluded with a bulb exchange and a potluck lunch will be provided. NENCDS Membership is encouraged for the bulb exchange, but not required. However, to participate in the bulb exchange you must either be a member or bring bulbs to exchange.
