The leader of the Currituck County 4-H Shooting Club, Kathy Melton, and two senior shooting team members, Tucker Melton and Gavin Phillips, recently attended the “Instructor Discipline Training” held at Camp Millstone in Ellerbe, NC on October 28th. This in depth training workshop certifies individuals allowing them  to provide 4-H sanctioned instruction on specific shooting sports disciplines to youth enrolled in these shooting programs.

Leader Kathy Melton, who is currently certified in the Rifle, Archery, and Shotgun disciplines, added a certification  in the Pistol discipline, and can now provide instruction and training in all four shooting disciplines. Club President and senior shooting team member, Tucker Melton, received his instructor certification in the Rifle Discipline, and Club Vice President and fellow shooting team member, Gavin Phillips, received instructor certification in the Shotgun Discipline. Both of these outstanding youth are now Junior Leaders for 4-H Shooting Sports and are able to assist with instruction in their respective disciplines. All three individuals  are to be commended for their leadership and dedication to their 4-H club and their community.
