Armchair Gardener Series: International Gardens

— Written By Sarah Watts and last updated by

Ever wish you could just travel without leaving your armchair? Do you want to just prop up your feet and see the world? The Currituck County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension is hosting a new series of lectures that will help you do just that! The “Armchair Gardener Series: International Gardens” will showcase a different garden each month beginning in November and continue through the new year. Each garden lecture will be held on a Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Currituck County Center located at 120 Community Way, Barco, NC. The best part is that each speaker is a local individual who has traveled to the actual gardens they are showcasing! So you will get a first hand account of the gardens through their eyes. So mark your calendars and join us as we “travel” on the following dates:

November 22nd – Kew Gardens & Chelsea Physics Garden in London England

December 13th – Versailles Gardens in Versailles France

January 17th – Small Gardens of Irish Countryside

February 21st – Garden to be determined – so stay tuned!

These will  be evenings of informative garden tours as seen through pictures, slides, virtual tours, personal experiences, and funny stories. So put on your house slippers, prop up your feet, and enjoy an evening of garden tours without having to leaving your “Armchair”. Bon Voyage!

If you have questions or would like further information concerning these lectures, please contact Sarah Watts at sewatts@ncsu.edu or by phone at 252-232-2262.
