Deck the Halls with boughs of Holly! Fa la la la la….Wait, how exactly do I do that? Well you are in luck! The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service will be hosting a “Deck the Halls: Holiday Flower Arrangement Class” on Thursday, December 15th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Currituck County Center located at 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917. It will be a morning filled with creativity and Christmas spirit as local florist, Sharon Price from Always’n’Bloom in Grandy, NC, provides hands on training to help create your very own holiday floral arrangement. She will discuss the collection and use of landscape foliage as fillers, placement of holiday colored flowers, and use of natural accents. Participants will also learn how to create a beautiful Christmas bow to add that special holiday touch. The only thing you need to bring to the class is a holiday container to create it in! So blow the dust off that cute little sled, holiday tin, basket, or solid colored container. If you are at a loss as to what to bring, Always’N’Bloom currently has some holiday containers available for purchase at the shop. Please no glass vases. The holidays will be here before we know it, and you can’t depend on Santa’s elves to do everything, so sign-up today as space is limited!

Registration and a class supply fee of $10 is required to participate. Please register by visiting: http://go.ncsu.edu/holidayfloral or by calling the Currituck County Extension Office at 252-232-2262. Please pay the fee prior to December 9th either in person at the Currituck Extension Office or by mail. All checks should be made payable to Currituck County. Please include “Flower Arrangement Class” in memo line. If you would like further information or have questions concerning this class, please contact Sarah Watts at sewatts@ncsu.edu or by calling 252-232-2262.
