Currituck County Cooperative Extension welcomed Jody Carpenter as the newest member of their staff on November 8, 2017. Jody will be serving as the Agriculture Agent for Currituck County. He will oversee the entire Agriculture program and provide expertise and educational programming specifically in the areas of field crops, local foods, consumer horticulture and pesticide education.

Jody comes to Currituck from West Virginia where he was a lifelong participant in Extension educational programming and most recently managed an area-wide farmers market. He has been a member of and coached nationally ranked soils judging and dairy bowl teams both from his local area and at the collegiate level at West Virginia University.

Cameron Lowe, County Extension Director stated, “we are very excited to have Jody on board. I am confident that his engaging personality, educational background, and passion for the Extension system will allow him to serve our agricultural community here in Currituck exceptionally well.”
