NCSU, 2018 Youth Market Turkey Show Registration
The 2018 Youth Market Turkey Show will be held during the NC State Fair, with turkey check-in on October 10th, and the show on Friday, October 12th starting at 9 a.m. Participants in the show are evaluated on the overall weight of their turkeys, the muscling in the breast and legs, and how well each participant has taken care of their bird. Each participant will receive 5 lbs of feed to get the birds off to a good start. Currituck County 4-H will offer workshops focused on basic care and showmanship for those youth participating in this exciting event. The Youth Market Turkey Show is open to youth ages 5-18 who will be in grades K-12 on the day of the show.
The Currituck County 4-H staff will pick up the poults on June 8th in Raleigh and participants will pick up their poults from the Currituck County Extension office that day by 6:00 p.m. Each participant may register to receive 1-3 banded turkey hen poults. Please indicate on the online registration form how many poults you would like to receive.
Participants are only allowed to bring one bird for check-in on October 10th. The rest are yours to keep! Currituck County 4-H staff will be willing to assist with delivering the hens on check-in day if needed. Youth will need to be at the fair by 8:30 a.m., Friday October 12, 2018 for the Youth Market Turkey Show.

There is a $10 registration fee due by March 7th. All checks should be made payable to Currituck Extension Foundation and delivered, by mail or in person, to the Currituck County Center located at 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917. Registration is not complete until the registration fee is received.
