Lawns are often considered to be the carpet of the garden. Lawns provide a place for people and pets to relax and play. The plants capture rain, allowing it to percolate into the soil, and roots help to hold the soil in place and prevent erosion.
Join Horticulture Extension Agent, Debbie Dillion, to learn about turfgrass varieties and plants that can be used as alternatives to turf. Participants will learn about variety selection; pH and nutrient requirements including maintenance schedules; and common problems. The importance of soil testing & interpreting a soil test report will also be covered.
Two identical sessions of this class are available to fit your schedule:
Tuesday March 16, 2021 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. REGISTER
Wednesday March 17, 2021 10 a.m. – Noon REGISTER
Each class costs $8 per person or if you sign up for all 7 classes, cost is $40. Registration and fee is required by March 9, 2021. Select a date and click on the REGISTER link above. Payment must be made at the Union County Extension Office, 3230 Presson Rd, Monroe, NC 28112.
All classes will be held virtually using Zoom. Once you are registered the Zoom link will be sent to you on Monday prior to the class.
