On Saturday, June 15, 2019, North Carolina Cooperative Extension-McDowell County Center will host 4-H District Activity Day at McDowell High School. 4-H District Activity Day is a long-lived Extension tradition where 4-Hers from across the West District will come together to compete in 4-H Presentations.

4-H Presentations is an opportunity for youth to learn about a topic, develop a presentation, and utilize public speaking skills to compete at local, district, and state competitions. Youth aged 8-18 research, write, practice, and deliver a 5-12 minute presentation on a topic of their choosing. Youth aged 5-7 can participate as well by presenting a topic for 2-4 minutes.

We need your help! Hosting 4-H District Activity Day requires volunteers from our community. In the table below is a list of volunteer opportunities. This is a one-time event with no long term commitment. Please look at the assignments and call the office at 828-652-8104, email Heather_Peek@ncsu.edu, or sign up using this form if you can volunteer. Let’s show our western 21 counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee McDowell County hospitality!
