Gardening and Cooking: Youth Container Herbs

— Written By and last updated by

Does your child show an interest in cooking or helping out in the kitchen? Or maybe they are getting ready for college and need to learn cooking skills before they leave. Either way, N.C. Cooperative Extension of Currituck County has the perfect class to add spice to their life! On March 13, 2020, from 4 until 6:30 p.m., youth ages 10 to 18 are invited to join us for the first class in our gardening and cooking series.

At the beginning of class, youth will plant their very own herb garden to sit in your windowsill at home. For the second part of the class, we will create delicious dishes using the herbs we planted. We invite parents to join us at 6 p.m. to taste our creations and learn about how to utilize fresh herbs in other family meals. Family dinner, the container garden, all our recipes, and educational materials are included in the $20.00 class fee. Find out more information and reserve your seat today at
