BBQ bootcamp

Calling all Master Chefs ages 8-18! Is your child interested in cooking on the grill? Then we have the class for you! Sign your child up for BBQ Bootcamp at North Carolina Cooperative Extension of Currituck County. Held on April 13, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., this evidence-based, interactive youth program designed to promote food science, food safety, meat science, and food preparation in a way to make your youth confident and excited about using these skills. We will use hands-on activities and group facilitated learning to teach youth about the science behind meat preparation in a fun and memorable way. Participants will prepare their own lunch as they implement the skills and knowledge they have gained through their exciting day at BBQ Bootcamp. Lunch, supplies and all education materials and handouts are included in the $30.00 class fee.

Reserve your child’s seat today by first completing the class registration and payment at  Then complete your child’s 2020 4-H Online enrollment at 4HOnline.  We also accept cash and check payments in addition to paying via credit card through Eventbrite. Please, make checks payable to NC State University. Checks and cash payments can be received at the Currituck County office 120 Community Way Barco NC 27917 within 5 days of registration. Class size is limited and full registration, including payment, is required to hold your child’s spot. We will gladly help you complete your online registration.
