Wild Turkey 5KIt’s not too late to register, if you want to participate in the  Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Union County Wild Turkey 5K Run and Walk. You can continue to sign up and participate until September 18. You can choose to participate in person or run anywhere.  For more information visit the Union County Heritage Festival website. All funds raised from the Wild Turkey 5K go to support Carolina Waterfowl Rescue.

We are so excited to be hosting the Union County Heritage Festival in person at the Union County Agriculture Center this year. The theme this year is “Thriving with Nature.”  There will be a variety of music, food trucks,  exhibitors,  a vendor fair, plants for sale, educational and creative activities for kids, storytime in the garden, free talks, arts and crafts demonstrations, fabulous raffle prizes, cooking demonstrations, and even more!

The Heritage Festival is free, thanks to our sponsors, Wingate University, Union Power, Agri Supply, Union County Parks & Recreation, South Piedmont Community College, EP Productions, Union County Sheriff Department, and others too numerous to mention. To see a complete list of our sponsors and vendors visit the Heritage Festival website.

If you want to see farm animals and kids in action, Union County 4-H will be hosting the 4-H Expo at the Jessie Helms Special Events Center adjacent to the Agriculture Center at the same time as the Heritage Festival. They will have cows, goats, and sheep, 4-H Club booths, creative arts competition, and safety town.

Come out and join us for this free, fun family event!
