Want to get in better shape and lose some weight? Then, register to participate in the “Get Fit and Lose It” program and you will gain access to enroll in all of the activities that are involved. First, during the registration process, you will complete a survey asking for your health numbers such as weight, height, cholesterol, waist circumference, blood sugar or A1C numbers, blood pressure, etc. This information will be used to assess whether or not your health numbers have improved throughout the program. Then you will receive notifications on our programs, activities, workshops, and ways for you to start getting fit. We will have monthly virtual Lunch N’ Learn workshops. Topics will range from heart health, nutrition, the Mediterranean diet, breakfast, diabetes, healthy food on a budget, and eating smart during the holidays. Fitness Challenges will also be issued monthly with incentives given out for participation in the program along with a top prize winner. Challenges will include activities like squats, jumping jacks, high steps, arm circles, sit-ups, planks, etc. We want to encourage the community to participate and move more each day. They can also participate in the social aspect of the programs, meeting at the local park for walking groups or participating in a Facebook Walking Group, with encouragement from others in the program to make healthy choices in food and physical activity.
