Savannah Banks

Savannah J Banks, daughter of Cedric Banks and Laura Shinn is a standout student-athlete from Currituck County High School and has been awarded the Currituck County Extension & Community Association Scholarship by Extension Community Association (ECA). The scholarship recognizes Savannah’s impressive achievements in academics, athletics, and community service.

A three-sport athlete excelling in volleyball, softball, and basketball, Savannah has demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership on and off the field. A passionate volleyball player, she hopes to continue her athletic career at the collegiate level.

Beyond athletics, Savannah has been an active and engaged member of the community. She was a member of 4-H and has volunteered her time at YMCA summer camps, serving as a mentor and role model for younger children.

“We are incredibly proud of Savannah Banks for receiving this well-deserved scholarship,” wrote Byron Powell, athletic director at Currituck County High School. “Savannah always finds a teachable moment. She moves with grace and flexibility in tough situations, and she always carries a smile with her. She is a true leader with her actions and words. This scholarship is a testament to her hard work and a reflection of the bright future that lies ahead.”

Savannah plans to attend Wesleyan University in the fall to continue her studies.
