Description:

Recycling Rain-Mini Rain Barrels

Rainwater collection is almost as old as civilization itself. Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water, help the environment and create a ready source of water for your garden in the hot summer months. This hybrid (face to face and virtual) workshop will show youth ages 9-18, how to make a mini rain barrel from inexpensive and recycled materials, how to make and read a rain gauge and how they can help the environment by collecting and reusing water. So join us Wednesday April 21, 2021 at 4:30 pm at NC Cooperative Extension-Currituck County Center. You may register to participate onsite or virtually through a live zoom broadcast. The registration fee of $5.00 covers all supplies and materials and curriculum. Virtual participants will receive information on how to pick-up the project kits from the County Extension Office, 120 Community Way, Barco NC.

Reserve your child’s seat today by first completing the class registration at https://minirainbarrels.eventbrite.com and then complete your child’s 2021 4-H Online enrollment at https://v2.4honline.com.  Class size is limited and full registration, including payment and 4-HOnline enrollment is required to hold your child’s spot.
