Description:

Iris are beautiful when in bloom, and need to be divided regularly to remain healthy. Do you have irises in your landscape and want to learn more about them? You can learn the proper technique to divide and re-plant your irises at our Currituck County Master Gardener℠ Volunteers Speakers’ Bureau class entitled “Dividing Irises” on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 9 a.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center in Barco. The instructor, Carole Kemp, Currituck County Master Gardener volunteer, will share her knowledge gained from many years of experience raising irises. Register online at go.ncsu.edu/mgspeakersbureau, or call the Currituck office at (252) 232-2262.

Master Gardener℠ volunteers are active, knowledgeable gardeners who are available to give presentations on a variety of gardening topics. All volunteers are trained by N. C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center’s staff. Educational programs may include PowerPoint slides, demonstrations or hands-on activities for adults or children.

If you are interested in becoming a Master Gardener volunteer, visit our article and registration at go.ncsu.edu/mgtraining19 . We are currently taking applicants for this year’s class. For questions on upcoming Speaker’s Bureau classes or information on the Master Gardeners volunteers program, email or call Chris Blaha at chris_blaha@ncsu.edu or (252) 232-2262.
