Do you get excited when a fish tugs at the end of your line? If so, you are not alone. Fishing is one of the most popular sports in America. Most everyone has a “fishing hole” near their home—whether it’s a creek, pond, lake, or the ocean. Fishing can be as simple as using a cane pole, a line, a cork, and a hook baited with a worm. But you can have more fun and success if you learn as much as possible about the diets and habits of a wide variety of fish.
We are lucky to have several ponds in Maple Park. Join us as we learn fishing basics and then try our luck in the local waters around NC Cooperative Extension - Currituck Center. This program is for youth ages 9 to 13. We will meet at NC Cooperative Extension - Currituck Center at 120 Community Way in Barco, NC. From there, we will fish the local ponds. The pick up will be at the same location at 12:00 noon.
We will provide equipment and bait, or bring your own if you would like.

Registration is not complete until your child is enrolled in NC 4-H for the 2022 program year. The link to do that is https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-in .
We also accept cash and check payments in addition to paying via credit card through Eventbrite. Please, make checks payable to NC State University. Checks and cash payments can be received at the Currituck County office, 120 Community Way Barco NC 27917, within 5 days of registration.
