Currituck County 4-H proudly had three youth members participate in the 2025 Albemarle Area Livestock Show and Sale, held on April 29–30 in Elizabeth City, NC. Representing our county were Jacob Plum, Taylor Morgan, and Karleigh Meads.
In the Junior Division (ages 8–12), Jacob Plum showed both a goat and a lamb, while Karleigh Meads exhibited a goat. Taylor Morgan competed in the Intermediate Division (ages 13–15), showing both a hog and a lamb.
Our participants achieved outstanding results:- Karleigh Meads earned Reserve Grand Champion Showman in goat showmanship and placed 3rd in her market lamb class.
- Taylor Morgan was awarded Grand Champion Intermediate Lamb Showman and placed 1st in her market hog class.
This marked Jacob Plum’s third year competing in the livestock show. While he may not have left the ring with a banner this time, his dedication and growth in working with his animals were clearly evident. He is already looking forward to next year’s competition.
