Public Speaking Champions - Currituck County 4-H

Currituck County 4-H’ers received top honors during the recent NC 4-H State Public Speaking competition.  Youth, ages 8-18, are selected to compete in the state competition by winning first or second place in their county and then again at their district-level competitions. Ten Currituck County youth earned the chance to compete at the State competition and all 10 earned a Gold or Silver Medal. All of these young people are to be commended for their outstanding achievements. 

Ashton Lowe,  Silver Medal for “Understanding the United Nations”  in the 14-18-year-old Citizenship & Community Service category.

Cayden Lowe, Gold Medal for “Coming Back with Confidence” in the 14-18-year-old Horse Public Speaking category.

Gabriel Campbell, Silver Medal for “The Engineering Design Process” in the 14-18-year-old Science & Technology category.

Megan Armstrong, Gold Medal for “Corolla Wild Horses” in the 14-18-year-old Forestry and  Wildlife category.

Emerson Page, Gold Medal for “Pamper Your Pony” in the 11-13-year-old Horse Category

Carsyn Sawyer, Gold Medal for “What Horses Mean To Me” in the 11-13-year-old Horse Public Speaking category.

Elijah Campbell, Gold Medal for “What Makes a Great Video Game”, in the 11-13-year-old Digital Reality category.

Riley Newsham, Silver Medal for “Planting & Growing Apple Trees” in the 11-13-year-old Horticulture Science category.

Caleb Minton, Silver Medal for “How to Tackle Your Tackle Box” in the 8-10-year-old Fisheries and Aquatic Environment category.

Karleigh Meads, Silver Medal for “From Caterpillar to Butterfly” in the  8-10-year-old Entomology category.
