NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is cooking up tons of fun, educational programs this year. You too can join in on the excitement! Do you love to garden? Do you love to eat? If the answer is yes or even maybe, you will want to join us on May 21st from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to learn more about growing herbs and how to incorporate them into a healthy diet. Class fee is $20.00 *and you will leave with a “container garden”, a full lunch, and several recipes using herbs.
Spice up your family dinners with our Mexican Cookery class on May 23rd from 10 to 1:00pm. Learn traditional Mexican cooking techniques with a healthy spin for a $15.00 class fee*. Lunch will be provided by you and fun is guaranteed!
Starting June 4th we will release weekly short videos with recipes, tips and tricks on how to transform your diet the Mediterranean way. A series of seven videos will be released and can be viewed at your convenience. Mark your calendars and follow @CurrituckCES on Facebook or Twitter to get these videos as they are released. You can also subscribe to the CurrituckCESHealthy YouTube channel to receive a notification when any videos are posted.
Our summer home canning series is a hands-on experience of preparing and canning produce that could be grown in your home garden. If you want to free up some space in your freezer, join us for one of our many home canning classes. Also note we have one spring canning class listed in May. Each class has a $15.00 fee*. Be sure to watch our Canning 101 video at go.ncsu.edu/canning101. Class begins at 1:00 and you will leave with canning goodies!
