Saturday, January 6th 2:30 – 5:30

Get organized for the work week so you can save time, money, and stress. During this class, the most common approaches to meal prep will be addressed, then participants will be invited to share personal tips. It’s cold outside, so we’ll explore steps in soup making and cook several types to share. Soup making is one of the oldest cooking methods because it is so easy and versatile. It freezes well, and tastes even better the next day, making it a perfect part of the meal plan rotation.

Sharpen Your Knife Skills

Saturday, January 13th 2:30 – 5:30

Knives are the most important tools in your kitchen, especially if you aspire to cooking with farm-fresh ingredients. This class is for beginners to experienced cooks who want to learn different methods. After watching demonstrations on various cuts and techniques led by veteran chef Adam Cole, you’ll practice chopping, slicing and mincing fruits and vegetables for a hearty soup and salad. By the time we finish, you’ll have a full belly and know how to safely use and care for your knives.

Quick Weeknight Recipes using Rotisserie Chicken

Rotisserie chicken is a delicious and versatile protein component for quick and healthy meals. During this hands-on class, we’ll add it to Asian, Italian and Mexican-inspired recipes. You’ll leave with plenty of tips and quick recipes to add to your dinner rotation.

Create Your Own Grain or Power Bowl!

Ever wonder what to do with leftover rice or quinoa? Whether planned or ad lib, a grain or power bowl makes a delicious and complete meal. In this class, you’ll roast sweet potatoes and veggies, cook up grains (including locally produced hominy from Laughing Springs Farm) and protein choices and make sauces for topping. Then use your creativity to assemble a delicious meal!

Build Your Own Burrito or Wrap

Tortillas and wraps are one of the most versatile pantry staples. They’re perfect for holding Mexican-inspired fillings but capable of even more. During this hands-on class, you’ll wrap up a variety of tasty fillings and leave inspired to add these quick and balanced meals to your menu rotation.
