Do you know how to take a bag of dried beans and turn that into dinner? How about how to make a pan of homemade cornbread? Join the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center staff as we teach you how to turn an inexpensive bag of dried beans into dinner. This workshop is designed for youth and adults. We will show you how to prep the dried beans, season, and cook them using the crockpot. We will also show you how to make an easy but very tasty cornbread that will complete your meal.
This is a FREE virtual workshop for youth and adults conducted via Zoom on Monday, February 15, 2021, starting at 10 a.m. Participants must register through Eventbrite and will be sent a Zoom link prior to the workshop. We will provide you with some of the supplies which can be retrieved at our scheduled drive-through pick up from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 11. Participants will also be given a short list of ingredients that they will be responsible for getting prior to the workshop. We will be using a crockpot for our demonstration, but will also give directions on using the stovetop if you do not have a crockpot. Visit https://cookingbeans.eventbrite.com by February 8 to reserve your family’s set today!
After you complete your Eventbrite registration please call Stephanie Minton or Sheila Gregory at 252-232-2262 and schedule your supply pick-up time. Youth that register will also have to be registered in 4-H Online.
