Collapse ▲**Update -Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, the Honeybee and Pollinator Workshop is canceled. Check out the Currituck Home, Flower, and Garden Show on Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. We are offering several 30-minute, short courses starting at 9:45, including two Honeybee and Pollinator workshops, one at 10:30 a.m., and one at 12:45 p.m. **
Help your local honey bees by planting bee-friendly plants. These plants can help the bees produce more honey, which you can then extract and jar. Certain plants can even affect the taste of honey.
Honey bees are not the only ones that benefit from blooming plants. Bumblebees, wasps, butterflies, moths, hummingbirds, and many other pollinators visit the garden. They will all benefit from your bee-friendly garden design.
Learn about bees, pollinators, and pollinator-friendly garden plants at our Honeybee and Pollinator Workshop on Thursday, March 17, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Currituck County Center, local beekeeper and honey bee guru, James Wierman will present on plants that will help increase pollination rates of native bees and honey bees and support healthy pollinator populations. Register for this free class online at: https://honeybee_pollinator_wkshp.eventbrite.com
