Collapse ▲Calling all youth and adult trail riders to join Currituck’s horse trail riding program.
This program is for trail riding only – no arena riding or training. We will award prizes to residents of Currituck county and members of Currituck county 4-H, who acquire 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 hours of trail riding time. Once riders hit the 2000 hour mark they will start over. The program is free and riders will be on the honor system to accurately report their trail riding hours. You can sign up at any time and riding hours will carry over from year to year. You can begin recording hours when you register and you can ride as many horses as you want. Hours are recorded for the rider. All riders under the age of 18 as of January 1, 2023 are considered youth. All youth must sign up in 4-H online. All riders must use the Eventbrite link to register.
Toward the end of each month you will get an email with a link to log your riding time. The following milestones will be awarded:
- 250 hours – Monogrammed cap
- 500 hours – Water bottle
- 1000 hours – Monogrammed saddle bag
- 2000 hours – Belt buckle.
Let’s saddle up and start logging some hours. Happy Trails!!!
