Collapse ▲Private Applicator License V Training – Currituck
Our first opportunity for V credits will be on Tuesday January 23 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Currituck County Extension Center. This training will cover the V credit portion of the private applicator license, required every three years. Our next opportunity for V credits in Currituck won’t be until August, so don’t wait if your license is expiring this year! Give us a call if you’re unsure when your license expires.
Auxin Training
This year’s Auxin training will be held on Monday, January 29 from 11:00 – Noon at the Currituck Extension Center. We’ll show the 1-hour dicamba training video required every year for those applicators planning on making over-the-top dicamba applications. If you aren’t able to attend this training, Drs. Charlie Cahoon and Wesley Everman will offer 6 Live Zoom starting in mid-Jan. And ending in March. Applicators can also fulfill their training requirement via training offered by manufacturers: BASF, Bayer, and Syngenta. Applicators using the Enlist products are NOT required to receive training. Soybean Production Meeting
Immediately following the Auxin Training on Monday, January 29 from Noon – 2:00 p.m., we’ll hold our Soybean Production meeting. Dr. Everman will be presenting weed control and resistance related to soybean production. Dr. LeAnn Lux, our new pathologist will update us on soybean disease management. We are providing lunch, and offering two hours of N, O, D, & X pesticide credits. Register for the meeting online.
Private Applicator License V Training – Camden
Our next opportunity for V credits will be on Tuesday January 30 from 10:00 – Noon at the Camden County Library. This training will cover the V credit portion of the private applicator license, required every three years. Give us a call if you’re unsure when your license expires.
Corn Production Meeting
On Friday, February 2 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m., the Camden County Library will host us for our Corn Production meeting. Dr. Heiniger will give us an update on his numerous research trials from the past year, as well as his 2024 weather outlook. Breakfast will be provided, and licensed applicators will receive two hours of N, O, D & X credits. Register for the meeting online.
Small Grain Expo
Join us in Pasquotank at K & L Farms, Inc. at 987 Cherry Glade Road, Elizabeth City on Wednesday, February 7 for this year’s Northeast Ag Expo Small Grain Field Day. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with a trade show, followed by presentations from small grain specialists from N.C. State. Presentation topics will range from small grain planting and production updates, disease and pest control, variety selection and more. The event will end at Noon, with a catered lunch. Participants with NC private and commercial pesticide licenses will receive two hours of N, O, D, & X credits. Register for the field day online.
Pesticide School & Exam
Join us Friday, February 16 at the Pasquotank Extension Office from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. for the NC Private Applicator License School. We’ll quickly cover topics to help you pass the exam. Then, come back at 1:00 p.m. to take the private applicator exam. Test takers need to bring a $10 check, pencil, and calculator for the private applicator exam, cell phones are NOT allowed. NCDA staff will be present to offer commercial license exams as well, but please call ahead to let us know you’d like to take the commercial exam. If you’d like to borrow a copy of the training books, give us a call at (252) 232-2261 and we’ll loan one to you until you take the exam. Register for the school online.
