Racing Through Time: 4-H Pinewood Derby Experience
Join us as we learn about the history of racing in Northeastern NC. Participants will create and race thier own pinewood derby car.
This exciting 4-H program introduces youth to the rich history of racing in Northeast North Carolina, exploring how local tracks, drivers, and traditions have shaped the sport over time. Participants will visit a local museum to deepen their understanding of racing history and enjoy a showing of the movie Secretariat. Youth will then gain hands-on experience designing and building their own pinewood derby cars. The program wraps up with a friendly race, where participants can test their creations, celebrate their efforts, and enjoy a fun, competitive atmosphere.
