Farm to Table: Sweet Corn
Join us as we learn about sweet corn. We will vist a local farm and pick corn out of the field and then return to the kitchen and cook.
This hands-on 4-H program for youth ages 8–12 explores the journey of sweet corn from the field to the table. Participants will visit a field to learn where sweet corn comes from and how it grows, gaining a better understanding of the farming process. After harvesting, youth will shuck the corn by removing the husks and silks, then head to the kitchen to prepare a tasty dish using their fresh ingredients. This program builds knowledge of agriculture, nutrition, and practical cooking skills in a fun and engaging way.
