L.I.F.T. - Lifelong Improvement through Fitness Together
Lifelong Improvements Through Fitness Together (L.I.F.T.) is a research-based program that helps develop relationships and improve both functional fitness and emotional health. These sessions help improve strength and mobility, provide information on healthy food options, and, most importantly, help form a healthy, active community.
L.I.F.T. is an 8-week group-based strength training program. We will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning March 17, 2026 for 1-hour sessions starting at 9 AM. Class cost is free, but you must register, space is limited.
This program is open to all adults 18 and older and is great for beginners!
We will have a variety of equipment available for use during this program. Tennis shoes are required, activewear is recommended. Equipment is provided, but it is suggested you bring your own water and/or a towel if needed. If you are unsure of your health and ability, it is your responsibility to seek approval from your primary care physician before joining this program.
This program will take place at the NC Cooperative Extension Center located at 120 Community Way in Barco, NC.
