(Updated: March 1, 2024, 3:49 a.m.)

If you’ve ever wanted to raise your own chickens or need a little help taking care of the ones you already have, N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center has the class for you! From 9:00 to noon on Saturday, May 11th, we’ll teach you all the basics to start your backyard flock. Don’t let getting started with your flock be fowl! In this class you’ll learn where to find chicks and chickens and coop basics and egg production. We’ll also cover local rules and ordinances, farm market regulations, and the differences in egg-layers vs. meat birds. After this course, we’ll have you egg-cited and prepared! Sign up online for this free course.
