Farm to Table: Pumpkins

Pumpkins

Local youth ages 8 to 13 are invited to roll up their sleeves and trace their food from the soil to the oven in the upcoming 4-H Farm to Table: Pumpkins program scheduled for Saturday October 3, 2026 starting at 9:00 am. Participants will begin their hands-on adventure at a local farm, discovering how pumpkins are planted, cultivated, and harvested. Afterward, the young chefs will head to the kitchen to transform their pumpkin to a table ready snack or treat. Learning valuable culinary techniques and nutrition basics along the way. This immersive experience offers a fun, interactive way for kids to connect with agriculture, build kitchen confidence, and enjoy the delicious rewards of their hard work.

This program will be held at the NC Cooperative Extension office located at 120 Community Way, Barco NC starting at 9:00 am and ending at 1:00 pm. Space is limited, and there is a program fee of $10. Fees can be paid through eventbrite or cash or check. If you are paying with cash or check, those fees will need to be in the office within five days of your registration. All participants must be enrolled in 4-H Online for the 2026 program year.
