Salsa in a bowl

Join us this month as we begin our flavorful series of cooking classes focused on local food preservation, featuring everyone's favorite—salsa! Learn how to turn fresh, seasonal produce into delicious, shelf-stable salsas using safe canning techniques. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on class will guide you through everything from chopping and seasoning to sealing and storing. Support local farms, reduce food waste, and take home jars of your own creations—perfect for gifts, meals, or snacks all year round! Class will be held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on July 17th. The class fee of $5 will cover class material and produce that you will be taking home.
