What exactly is this event? Currituck County 4-H is hosting the NC 4-H Northeast District Public Speaking Competition on June 17, 2022. Youth participating in this contest  research a topic of interest and then put together a creative, informative 5-12 minute prepared presentation which is presented to a panel of judges, who score the youth based on the speech’s content, composition and delivery. There are 35 presentation categories with 3 age groups per category. The Northeast District consists of 22 counties and youth, families, Extension volunteers and Staff from each of these counties will be in attendance for this event as well as faculty and staff from North Carolina State University and N.C. Cooperative Extension.
