NC State Extension announced that Abby Rose is completing an Extension internship this summer with the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center.

An Extension summer intern works with Extension personnel to deliver hands-on, educational programs. Job shadowing and mentoring help interns learn about the mission and work of North Carolina Cooperative Extension.

“Extension makes a positive difference in the community every day. We provide educational programs that connect communities with research-based information. Our internship program is another way we help prepare students for challenging and rewarding careers in food, agriculture, natural resources, and family and consumer sciences” said Dr. Richard Bonanno, Associate Dean of the NC State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Director of NC State Extension.

“We are very excited to have Abby on board for the summer. She is a very outgoing and hard-working individual with a passion for agriculture, education, and the Currituck community. She will certainly make meaningful contributions to our organization. We hope to assist her in achieving her educational and long-term career goals as well” stated Cameron Lowe, County Extension Director.

Rose is a sophomore from NC State University majoring in agriculture education, and is a native of Currituck County. “I am so excited to have this opportunity and coming home to intern in Currituck County makes it even more special. I’m eager to explore all that’s offered through Cooperative Extension. I’ve heard lots of great things about the staff here and I look forward to learning from each of them.”
