Are you ready for a night out where you can enjoy learning new things while having fun? We have the perfect class for you! N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is partnering with Sanctuary Vineyards again this fall to offer a Night Out with Extension. Classes will be held at Sanctuary Vineyards from 5:30 – 7:00 and will include food and a free wine tasting for attendees over 21 with valid identification. A class fee of $20.00 will cover class materials and educational supplies. Wine is not covered in the cost of the ticket, but will be available to purchase. If you want to purchase two tickets, call the Currituck Extension Office at 252-232-2261 for a discounted second ticket. The discounted ticket will not receive any promotional items purchased for the class, but will still include food and the wine tasting.
September 20th – Muscadine Wine
In our muscadine class, we’ll cover everything you need to know about one of North Carolina’s fall staples, muscadine wine! During class, we’ll learn about the history of muscadine grapes, sample some local muscadine grapes, and prepare our own muscadine wine. And of course, have an opportunity to taste Sanctuary Vineyards wines, paired with other Carolina classics.
October 18th – Pretzels
October is National pretzel month! In our Pretzels class, we’ll cover how to make the perfect pretzels at home. We’ll practice the technique in class, making our own pretzels and pairing them with a Sanctuary Vineyards wine.
November 15th – Mushrooms
In November, we’ll learn how to grow our very own Shiitake mushrooms at home! Our class fee will cover the supplies to start your very own Shiitake mushroom log, to produce mushrooms for up to 3 years! We will also sample popular Shiitake dishes and the Sanctuary Vineyards wine that pairs well with them.
December 13th – Infusions
Join us in December for our Infusions class. Infusions are a great way to add additional flavor to some of your favorite dishes. In this class, we’ll infuse some of our favorite kitchen staples, sample them on a few of our favorite dishes, and of course, see what Sanctuary Vineyards wine pairs well with them.
Sign up today. We are accepting cash and check payments in addition to paying via credit card through Eventbrite. Please, make checks payable to NCSU. Checks and cash payments can be received at the Currituck Extension Office located at 120 Community Way Barco, NC 27917, within 5 days of registration. Class size is limited and full registration, including payment, is required to hold your spot. If you have any problems registering please call us at 252-232-2261, and we will walk you through the process.
