Currituck Family & Consumer Sciences Program Assistant Announcement

N.C. Cooperative Extension in Currituck County welcomed Erin Murphy as the newest member of their staff on September 2, 2025. Erin will serve as Currituck’s Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Program Assistant focusing on Medicare Counseling and community health and wellness. 

Erin completed her Associate in Applied Science with a concentration in Health Sciences from Blue Ridge Community College. She is also a certified fitness instructor and is passionate about health and wellness throughout life.

“Erin’s training and work experience make her an ideal addition to our team,” says Cameron Lowe, Cooperative Extension Director.  “With her background in healthcare and commitment to learning she has the potential to provide outstanding service to Medicare clientele and deliver quality healthy living programming to Currituck residents.”

Erin shared, "I truly believe that “The greatest wealth is health”. Guided by this belief, I am dedicated to bringing this philosophy to life for the residents of Currituck County. Through sharing my knowledge, experience, and practical wellness strategies, my goal is to inspire and empower our community to live healthier, stronger and more fulfilling lives.”
