Adam Formella

N.C. Cooperative Extension in Currituck County is proud to introduce Adam Formella as the newest member of their staff. Adam will be serving as Currituck’s Agriculture Agent. In this role, he will oversee programs related to all aspects of agriculture in Currituck County. Adam will also serve as the county’s pesticide education coordinator.

Adam is from Smithfield, Virginia. He is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a Master’s in Entomology. Adam’s graduate work focused on the ecology of the brown marmorated stink bug on vegetable farms and in wooded environments.

Cameron Lowe, County Extension Director stated, “we are very excited to have Adam serving in this role. In his very short time with our organization, he has already proven himself very knowledgeable, motivated and willing to learn. I am confident that his skill set and professionalism will be an excellent match to enhance the agriculture program here in Currituck County.”

“I am very excited to be here in Currituck County and to have the opportunity to make an impact on the community,” stated Adam. “I look forward to getting out and meeting farmers and homeowners and assisting them in any way I can.”
