Because of popular demand, on February 22, 2020, N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center will present a workshop for both professionals and homeowners who want to learn how to properly prune their ornamental trees and shrubs.

The workshop will cover when, why, and how to prune; tree assessment, proper cuts, developing good branching habits, looking for defects, correcting problems, and how much to prune. Working on real trees in the field will help participants improve this important skill. We will host a lecture followed by the on-site, hands-on portion to the class, where participants will have an opportunity to prune a Crape Myrtle tree on the premises, with staff available to assist you every step of the way! We have a limited number of pruning saws available for use, so please bring your own if possible.

Join us on February, 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. Register online for this free workshop at https://pruningornamentals.eventbrite.com, If you have questions or need accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Chris Blaha at 252-232-2262 or email ctblaha@ncsu.edu no later than five business days before the event.
