Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, new guideline restrictions for livestock shows have been put into place today March 20, 2020, all in-person Extension activities are canceled or postponed; to include all 4-H livestock shows. Due to the current restrictions, the Albemarle Area 4-H Livestock Show will be canceled for this year. There will be a support price truckload sale available to all participants who want to sell their animals. You are not required to sell your animal but this option is available to you. The Cooperative Extension Service is working to have the truckload sale at the end of next week.

If you sell your animal you will be eligible for truck add-ons which means people who donate money to the show in support will be evenly distributed to all youth who sell their animals. If you would like to sell your animal with the show please contact N.C. Cooperative Extension of Perquimans County at 426-5428 or N.C. Cooperative Extension of Pasquotank County at 338-3954 by next Tuesday, March 24. All hogs, lambs, and goats that will be sold need to be brought to the livestock arena on Thursday, March 26 between 1 and 9 p.m. Once you contact someone at one of the offices above you will be given a drop off time since we are limited to the number of people that can be there. Steers will be weighed on a different day which is yet to be determined.
