Collapse ▲The 4-H Electric Program is one of the exciting areas where 4-Hers are given several opportunities to learn by doing, with hands-on activities. With the current situation, we have not been able to program with youth in a face to face setting. But that is not going to stop us from giving youth the opportunity to learn about the Magic of Electricity.
N.C. Cooperative Extension – Currituck County Center is hosting a series of virtual events within the electric program. There will be five different Zoom meetings in which youth ages 9 and up can participate. These hands-on activities will be led by 4-H staff and 4-H members that have experience in the electric program. All supplies will be given to each participant in a drive-through pick up. There is no fee involved in this program however, we have a limited amount of participants we can accommodate.
The Zoom meetings will start on July 21, 2020, and continue each Tuesday and Thursday with the last meeting being held on August 6, 2020. At the conclusion of this virtual program, participants will be asked to complete a short survey. They will also have the opportunity to complete other hands-on activities with materials they are given.
You can jump in anytime. Therefore, registration remains open until July 31, 2020. Please remember that supplies are limited and available on a first come first serve basis. Activity packets may be picked up in person after completing your registration. These will be available as long as supplies last. You may register online at https://2020currituckelectric.eventbrite.com Your registration is not complete until 4HOnline is complete. 4-H forms are found at 4HOnline Forms.
For more information or accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Stephanie Minton at stephanie_minton@ncsu.edu or (252) 232-2262 no later than five business days before the event.
