The 2021 4-H Youth Gardening program will provide hands-on, informative, and imaginative activities for youth of all ages, with new activities each month. This hands-on workshop called Let’s Fire Up the Hydroponics Rack! is a gardening activity for youth ages 10-14, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at 4 p.m.  The workshop will last approximately 1.5 hours.  In this interactive workshop, we will learn about a small hydroponics rack, how it works, and how it functions. We will then “fire it up” by doing everything necessary to get it running and insert our plants and grow lights.

Gardening is a healthy, fun activity for children! Young people that participate in gardening activities develop new skills, learn about science and nature, learn about where their food comes from, and expand their creativity and imagination.

This is free of charge and all materials for this workshop will be provided to registered participants. This event will be at the N.C. Cooperative Extension – Currituck County Center, 120 Community Way, Barco, NC.

To register, please visit letsfireupthehydroponicsrack.eventbrite.com. Registration is not complete until 4-H Online enrollment is submitted. Be sure to check out online learning opportunities offered by N.C. Cooperative Extension in Currituck County by visiting our website
