Join us for a fun-filled trip to Merchants Millpond State Park in Gatesville, NC on Saturday, October 16, 2021. “The scenic pond is surrounded by picnic grounds, nine miles of hiking trails, and a visitor center offering museum-quality exhibits.”  We will enjoy canoeing/kayaking through the millpond, as well as an education program presented by the rangers. This program is for all youth ages 10 to 15. The cost for this program is only $5.00.

We will gather at the N.C. Cooperative Extension – Currituck County Center at 120 Community Way in Barco and depart at 9 a.m. Please pack a lunch and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We plan to return to the office by 4 p.m.

After you complete your Eventbrite registration, you will need to register your youth through the 4-H Online site. It is easy and only takes a few minutes. Please call us and we will guide you through it if you have any problems. 

We also accept cash and check payments in addition to paying via credit card through Eventbrite. Please, make checks payable to NC State University. Checks and cash payments can be received at the Currituck County office, 120 Community Way Barco NC 27917, within 5 days of registration.

Currently, in-person classes require masks to be worn for the duration of the class without exception. If you arrive without a mask one will be provided for you. We ask all participants to maintain six feet of distance while on the premises.
